COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Advice

Last reviewed:   Wednesday 17 August 2022.

ACER and the Victoria Police strongly recommend that all candidates attending ACER testing centres bring and wear a face mask indoors.

The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is continuing to monitor the changing COVID-19 situation and following the guidance of government health authorities on appropriate steps. The safety and wellbeing of our staff, clients and all those who have contact with us is our priority. ACER will continue to act on official government health guidelines.

Conditions of entry to all ACER test centres

  • You must agree to adhere to all requirements of the testing centre in relation to social distancing, if required.
  • All candidates must bring a mask to each exam session. From time to time there may be a requirement for all candidates to wear a face mask at a testing centre. In these instances, it is expected that all candidates comply at the request of ACER test administration staff.
  • Candidates will be supplied alcohol wipes to further sanitise their own station to their satisfaction.
  • Any candidate who tests positive within 7 days of attending an exam session is required to contact ACER to alert us to the issue.

What to do if you can’t attend or complete your test session:

  1. Inform ACER immediately via email to vicpol@acer.org
  2. If you are feeling unwell or have any COVID-19 symptoms, consult a doctor and provide ACER with a medical certificate within 3 business of your assessment.
  3. ACER will follow up with you to provide a new exam date at a suitable time. This deferral will be complimentary providing appropriate documentation is provided within the requested timeframe.
  4. Please Note; If you test positive to COVID via a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), you are required by law to report that positive test to the Victorian Government.  Failure to report a positive test reflects very poorly in an assessment of your suitability under our organisational values and may result in a cancellation of your application.  For further information please see information contained in the following link.  https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/report-your-rapid-antigen-test-result
