You will receive a score for each of the eight (8) exam components. Five of these are raw scores; they are not scaled and are not percentage marks. The other three (Literacy Skills, Digital Literacy and Numerical Reasoning Skills) are scale scores*.
*The Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF)
The Literacy Skills and Numerical Reasoning Skills components are scored according to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) with a scale score (e.g. 111) rather than a raw score (e.g. 15/20) or a percentage correct (e.g. 75%). These scale scores are calculated using an empirically-based computerised scoring algorithm that takes into account the difficulty of the questions in the test, as well as how many questions you get correct. This determines the numerical score, which can range from a minimum of approximately 40 through to a maximum of approximately 170. The scale of possible scores is then split into different bands or levels aligned to each of the five main levels of the Australian Core Skills Framework in the Reading and Numeracy skill areas.
Police score of 111
A scale score of 111 or higher translates to achieving at or above 'Exit ACSF Level 3', which is the required level of performance for entry into the Police program.
PSO score of 105
A scale score of 105 or higher translates to achieving just below 'Exit ACSF Level 3' which is the required level of performance for entry into the PSO program.
Victoria Police Entrance Examination results are valid for a period of three (3) years from the date that you passed all components of the exam.
