When completing online registration, you must upload a recent photo of yourself. This photo will appear on your admission ticket as means of identification and will be available to Victoria Police throughout the registration process.
Please provide a passport-quality photo showing head and shoulders against a clear background. This photo may be taken by yourself but should show you in a professional manner. A scanned copy of your driver's licence is not accepted. Photos are uploaded when you register for the exam.
The photo provided will be checked for compliance and either approved or declared unsuitable. If it is unsuitable, you be emailed and asked to resubmit a new photo before your exam. Failure to provide an acceptable photo will affect your ability to sit the exam.
This photo will accompany your application and will be shared with Victoria Police. It is important it is professional and contains your head and shoulders and has a plain, white background.
Photos will be verified by ACER and may be rejected if they do not meet the requirements. You will be notified of a photo rejection via email and will not be permitted to attend the exam if the photo is not replaced quickly.
Common mistakes:
For remote proctored, online exams, you will be required to upload a photo of your current photo ID document, such as your driver's licence. You will be notified via email if this does not meet the requirements.
The fee to sit the Victoria Police entrance examination is $275 (incl. GST) and is paid directly to ACER at the time of booking through the ACER portal.
If you are unable to attend your booked assessment, and it is 72 hours before your start time, you can pay a late reschedule fee of $104 (incl. GST) to reschedule to a later date. Payment is made in the ACER portal. This option is available up until the start time of your exam.
Reasons for late rescheduling may include illness, family emergencies or technology issues.
If you book an exam session but do not attend without notifying ACER, your application to Victoria Police will be void and you risk a six (6) month delay in applying again.

Rescheduling is permitted up until 72 hours before your assessment. You may choose to change your assessment date, time or mode of testing. You can make your own changes within the ACER Portal by logging in as a ‘Returning User’.
Please ensure you complete your exam within the time set by Victoria Police in your invitation. You may need to seek an extension if your change is outside this timeframe.
If you decide to cancel your exam, you must do so at least 72 hours before your booking to receive a partial refund. Ensure you also contact Victoria Police recruitment directly to advise you wish to cancel your application.
Cancellations within 72 hours of your exam date are non-refundable.
Registration fees for the Victoria Police Entrance Exam will be refunded upon request up to three (3) business days prior to your scheduled sitting; however, an administrative charge of $53 will be deducted.
